Over the course of six weeks, the APALI Summer Youth Leadership Academy students learned about civic involvement, community, and leadership through workshops, guest speakers, community tours, and civic learning projects. Our students developed genuine connections and new friendships with each other as they delved deeper into an understanding of underprivileged communities and communities of Color. This marks only the beginning of a lifelong learning process and commitment to civic involvement and awareness for our APALI students.
Welcome to the APALI Family YLA Class of 2015! You are always welcomed home!

The APALI Youth Leadership Academy is a college-level class exploring Asian American and Pacific Islander experience, community, civic engagement, and leadership. The curriculum includes guest speakers, interactive workshops, community tour, city hall visit, public policy project, and alumni-organized events. In addition to knowledge and skills, students can gain a sense of personal empowerment. Graduates since 1999 have felt that "APALI is more than a class, it is an experience!"
APALI would like to thank all those who supported APALI at our 18th Annual Benefit Banquet at Santa Clara Marriott. We had a great turnout with many APALI alumni, community, nonprofit, and public leaders in attendance in support. Enjoy our Benefit Banquet Slideshow below.
More pictures of our banquet can also be found on our Facebook Photo Album. Don't forget to like and follow us Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!
With the APALI Benefit Banquet two weeks away, we thought it be appropriate to reflect on our alums and their stories.
